David Garcia was crowned champion of Europe after winning an all-GB final at Club Danube in Vienna.
Taking part in his first European Maccabi Games, Garcia, 15, beat Yossi Goodlink to take the gold in the Junior Boys badminton final.
A national country player, Garcia is currently ranked 20. He reached a high of 15.
Garcia, who lives in Bournemouth and plays for Dorset, said: “I was really looking forward to competing and am really happy to have won gold.
“I’ve enjoyed the Maccabi experience and have made lots of friends.
“I would love to compete at the Maccabiah Games in two years.”
GB will be looking for more badminton medals tomorrow when Natasha Collins and Garcia line up in the mixed doubles final.
Elsewhere, Harrison Baum and Ben Winters compete in the bronze medal match while Dan Cohen is in action in the Plate final with Sammy Kingston and Yossi Goodlink in the Junior Boys doubles final plate.
GB Junior badminton manager Samantha Baum said: “The boys have done absolutely brilliantly.
“Before setting out, my hope was they would come home with medals so to win gold and silver is great in a good standard competition.
“The squad has gelled really well with Scotland as well."
