Holders Brady beaten as Faithfold reach last four

articlemain

Faithfold continued their relentless march towards the latter stages of the Henry Swerner Maccabi Masters League Cup by knocking out holders Brady Maccabi A 3-2.

Having disposed of Lions A in the previous round, they took early control in the last eight clash, forging into a three-goal lead at the interval courtesy of strikes from Robin Kay, Adam Barton and Jason Rich. And despite Marc Herman pulling two goals back for Brady in the second half, Adam Lustigman’s troops held on to become this season’s first confirmed semi-finalists.

In the league, Andy Miller bagged a brace as London Maccabi Lions A beat Temple Fortune A 2-1 in Division One. Yali Mamouri replied as Fortune’s six-match unbeaten run was ended.

Glenthorne United B recorded their fourth victory in Division Two after winning 3-0 at Ashlodge. Having played out a goalless draw in the corresponding fixture last week, the East Londoners eased home thanks to strikes from Alan Lee, Andy Block and Ray Russell.
