JC MSFL DIVISION TWO
FC TEAM B 4 LOS BLANCOS 5
Los Blancos claimed their first win of the season after edging a nine-goal thriller at Barnet playing fields.
Blancos went ahead on 20 minutes with a standout contender for goal of the week. Joel Kutner, the team captain, picked the ball up 30 yards from goal. He stepped inside to lose him man and unleashed a ferocious, dipping piledriver that almost broke the net at the right top corner of the FC Team net.
One became two soon after when Blancos player-manager Adam Hersh capitalised on a mistake from the Team keeper.
FC Team then moved up a gear and halved the deficit after a poor back pass from Ben Annis. The comeback was completed with a sumptuous effort from 20 yards from one of the FC Team strikers but did he mean it?
In the second half goals were exchanged in the first five minutes with Sami Birnbaum put Blancos back in front after a goal-mouth scramble and then a header from a corner made it 3-3.
Annis then made amends with a contender for goal of the week and team goal of the week. Picking the ball up at left-back, he fed Adam Waters through down the left wing. Annis continued his blistering run and screaming for the ball, collected it and burst into the box firing a screamer into the far corner
Hersh completed the blancos contribution with a finish from a cross.
Jon Fisher (2), Mitch Lassman and Freddie Marks registered for FC Team who set up a tense finale with a fourth goal on the counter-attack.
Blancos boss Adam Hersh was delighted with the three points: He told JC Sport: "This was a hard-fought but ultimately deserved victory against a strong fc team side.
"Ben Annis was the outstanding player this week inspired by his star man status!"
FC Team boss Ben Simon told JC Sport: "It was a disappointing result, especially in the manner of the defeat. There were too many soft goals conceded and we just weren't sharp enough.
"If we want to achieve a high league position this season then we will need to improve, however the fact that we scored four goals is a positive we can take into the next game."
