Hemed has scored 33 goals in 108 games for the Seagulls since joining in July 2015, but the 31-year-old has dropped down the pecking order at Brighton since they were promoted to the Premier League.

He reached double figures for the club in his two seasons in the Championship – including 11 goals in season 2016/17.

However, Hemed has only featured in 16 league games since Brighton's promotion to the Premier League in 2016-17.He scored his first Premier League goal last season in the 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion last September but has been linked with a move away from the south coast club over the past few months.

Rangers are bottom of the Championship table having lost all four games but Hemed is confident he can helps the Superhoops climb the table. He said: “I know the reason I am here. I've good experience and gave scored goals in the Championship.

"I can also help create chances for others and be a big factor in the attacking side of the game.

"I've done good things at Brighton and can use my character to show that. I'm sure after one or two games we can do good things together."
