Heaton Park Rovers signed off their league campaign by cruising past Maccabi Manchester Yellow.

Now they will be looking to get one over newly-crowned champions Leeds Maccabi in the Shonn Trophy on Sunday.

HPR confirmed their runners-up spot as Alex Swift’s hat-trick set up the rout.

But manager David Seligman says his side have bigger fish to try.

He said: “We feel we can beat any side on our day. And we will be targeting success in the cups. Leeds deserved to win the league. They were the most consistent side.

"But the cup is a one-off game and this is one we think we can win. The boys have put a lot in this season so we hope to be rewarded."

Swift underlined his red-hot form by bagging his second successive treble.

Harry Roache (2), Joe Copeland and Luke Turner also netted.

Maccabi Manchester Yellows hit back via a consolation from Johnny Alexander.

Seligman said: "There is a lot to play for and we will be really up for it.

"Some of the players have been rested and they will benefit from the break. I think they will be fresh and raring to go for the run-in."
