Hartsbourne retained the Glancy Cup for the third consecutive year after overhauling Abridge's overnight lead on day two at Dunham Forest Golf & Country Club in Altrincham.
The competition is the most important of the year's events arranged by the Association of Jewish Golf Clubs and Societies. This year's line-up featured 18 teams of eight players.
Abridge were the leaders at the end of the day's foursomes play with a team score of 233 gross which won them the Dyrham Park Trophy for the best three out of four gross scores in the foursomes. Their pairing of Michael Mercer and Barry Green won the Whitefield Cup for the best gross score in the foursomes with a superb 74.
Sunday's play was in singles format with six scores out of eight counting towards the team score. Hartsbourne produced the best performance with a gross score of 478 for their six best scores and claimed the Moor Allerton Cup.
Hartsbourne's strong singles performance enabled them to triumph overall and for the third year running they were winners of the Glancy Cup with a total of 720 beating runners-up Abridge by six shots. Moor Allerton tied with Abridge but were beaten by reference to a card playoff.
Johnny Lawrence of Moor Allerton took the Hartsbourne Cup for the lowest gross score in the singles. His score of 74 beat his nearest challenger and playing partner, Stephen Schindler of Hartsbourne by one shot. The Potters Bar Bowl for the best net score in the singles was won by Richard Gold of Shirley with a score of 72 and his score assisted Shirley to win the Edmonstown Cup for the lowest six net scores in the singles combined with lowest three net scores in the foursomes with a score of 687.
The Association recognises that the Societies have a smaller pool of golfers to choose from and are generally unable to compete with the large clubs for the main Glancy Trophy. Therefore, the Southport Society Trophy is awarded for the lowest six gross singles combined with the lowest three gross scores in foursomes by a society and this was won for the second year in succession by Notts & Sheffield (787).
The North East Jewish Golfing Society retained the Blackpool and Fylde Trophy and The South Essex Trophy. Team Captain Martin Schapira said: "This was a wonderful achievement for our team and I am very proud of all of them."

Glancy Factfile
The Glancy Trophy was inaugurated in 1934 when Dr Louis Glancy presented the trophy for annual competition between the first Jewish Golf Clubs, Moor Allerton and Whitefield. It was his hope that Jewish communities throughout the land would form their own clubs and join in this competition.
He mused that one day he hoped that there would be a competition with participating clubs from all over the British Isles who would meet as friends and brothers and where there would be a high standard of golf, sportsmanship and comradeship.
His perception has stood the test of time and the Association now embraces 21 affiliated clubs/societies to the Association.
