Danny Caro's Team of the Week: Dec 18

articlemain

1. ILAN BEN-ZION (Southgate Harmen B) - "regular right-back, help out the team by taking the gloves and had a blinder in goal. He commanded his box well and pulled off a number of match winning saves. Thoroughly deserved Man-of-the-Match award in the shock win over Norstar A

2. DANIEL VANDERMOLEN (Blizzard Storm) - "controlled the game, like last week from centre back. Keeper Nick Rubin has quoted that whoever is in charge of the next Maccabiah better have a good look at this kid, he is a hot prospect in the Jewish game!"

3. DOUG BERLIN (SPEC FC) - "showed why he is known in the MSFL as 'the wall' with a solid performance. Dominant in the air whilst also happy to get the ball down and start attacks from the back"

4. ADAM LEVENE (NW Neasden C) - "by far the best defensive performance I have seen this season" following the 2-1 win over free-scoring Shirley Park

5. JAKE GOTTLIEB (NW Neasden A) - "had been out for three weeks with a pulled hammy and had not trained in that time, came in at centre half and produced one of the best performances I have seen at this level"

6. ROB BLACKMAN (Brixton A) - alongside James Kaye, Blackman helped Brixton take a decisive grip in the midfield engine room against Temple Fortune A

7. DAN CASTLE (Chigwell Athletic) - "back after five weeks out and lead by example, as always. Ran the game at times capped off with a brilliant header"

8. JAMES JOSEPH (Brady Maccabi B) - "the midfield maestro played in a deeper role than usual, a tactical masterstroke that worked tremendously, as he scored two, and pulled the strings in the centre of the park"

9. DON MANSOOR (Athletico Finchley) - the new signing had a dream debut, running the Boca back-line ragged and chipping in with a goal-of-the-week contender for good measure

10. CRAIG SANDFORD (Glenthorne Utd B) - fired a fab five-goal salvo in the 10-1 demolition of Hendon C to move on to 17 for the season. Now lies second in the overall goal charts. Looks a shoo-in for the end-of-season North vs East clash at Wingate

11. BEN BELL (Athletic Bilbaum) - "two very well-taken goals and an excellent performance marauding the Brixton defence
