Danny Caro's MGBSFL awards: February

articlemain

The action was fast and furious in February, but three players stood out in the MGBSFL – one in each division.

Sam Sollosi has been on a different level to most across the league this season. Jon Jacobs, his manager at Redbridge Jewish Care A, has run out of superlatives to describe his match-winner, who has helped keep the team in contention for silverware in the Premier Division and Peter Morrison Trophy.

The former Young Player of the Year has contributed some top-quality goals and a plethora of assists and his form throughout the month was quite magical.

There were also some exceptional performances from players at Raiders A, but Sam was my stand-out performer.

James Ryan has been another stand-out performer. The Woodford wide man has shown tremendous work-rate and energy levels to help catapult his team to the top of Division One. When James plays well, Woodford play well.

The fact that Elliott Espinoza is one of the league’s top-scorers tells you two things. Firstly, he should be playing higher up the league and Scrabble FC are lucky to have him.

The first name down on Ray Abrahams’s team-sheet, Espinoza is a box-to-box midfielder and undoubtedly one of the signings of the season.

Zak McLeod pushed Espinoza close but the midfield dynamo has been the heartbeat of the team over the last few weeks.

PREMIER PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Sam Sollosi (Redbridge Jewish Care A)

DIVISION ONE PLAYER OF THE MONTH
James Ryan (Woodford Wanderers)

DIVISION TWO PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Elliott Espinoza (Scrabble FC)
