Comeback win delights McGarvery

Scott McGarvey insists Manchester Maccabi 1st were at their Sunday best as they booked their place in the semi-finals of the Handi-Cup.

Strikes from David Herman (2), Sam Hatton, Josh Lewis and Louie Basso saw Maccabi overturn a two-goal handicap to progress against West Manchester.

Maccabi 1st assistant-manager Scott McGarvey said: "Our shape and tempo in the first half was excellent, probably our best all season."

A solitary strike from Louis Rawlings steered South Manchester Sports Club 1st past Village Manchester in the Accountants League Premier Division.

Leeds Maccabi warmed-up for Sunday's MJSL title showdown against Heaton Park Rovers with a 5-0 demolition of Oakhill Lions.

Nick Vale (2), Jordan Marks, Tim Zoltie and Jonny Goldstone eased them home.

Leeds boss Daniel Kristall said: "The onlooking HPR scouts would've been impressed by what they saw."
