A hat-trick from DAVID James COHEN helped FC Team C condemn AC Mill Hill to their first defeat of the season with a stunning display.

For what can only be described as a perfect performance was proven by an absolute rampage at The Coliseum this morning.

Playing on manger Ben Gilbey’s mind all week he made the Team boys aware that is was essential that they came out fighting from the word go – and fighting they certainly came out.

Although very early on in the season, with both sides having started well, this game was huge. Not only did each team want the bragging rights, but even more so the continuation of their unbeaten runs.

Team welcomed back star man and recently labeled centre back extraordinaire Eitan Ben-Zion after two weeks out injured. Having the boy, who is tipped to win player of the season, back in the squad FC Team were given an extra boost of confidence pre-match.
For the first time in weeks there were some fresh faces on the pitch. Starting off slow in recent weeks Team captain Jamie Breslaw went for a change of tactics. After winning the toss he decided to swap ends. Claiming he wanted to be shooting downhill (on a completely level pitch). AC Mill Hill Kicked off and the game had begun.

With his father wearing his lucky red ‘Gooner’ coat, Adam Aminoff realised that this was serious. He needed to step it up a level. However, Aminoff took this too far and stepped it up several levels.
The Adam Aminoff that we remember from our childhood was back, the Aminoff that used to destroy defences and ridicule the opponents, the man himself was making a comeback.
Playing back on his favoured right wing he was running the show today.

Team were on top and the chances were coming. Fifteen minutes had passed and Matt Sheldon was ready to pounce. With David James Cohen out wide and Sheldon at the back post the cross-field ball looked close to impossible. However, Cohen being the man he is thought he’d give it an attempt and an attempt he gave it. The ball was lofted up high and wonderfully met by the man they call SHEEEELLLL. A half volley in to the back of the net. 1-0 TEAM.

Mill Hill began to panic, with the famous duo of Daniel Rothman and Rob Sandford in the middle nothing was getting through there. AC Mill Hill were at a loose end and started to play the hopeful long balls. With a slick wet pitch this was becoming easy pickings for Mike Myers in goal.

With the Ben-Zion/Breslaw partnership at the back as strong as ever captain fantastic was leading by example - keeping the goal machine Ben Zloof quiet all game. With little to deal with at the full-backs Sam Collins and Jacob Symons were almost playing as second wingers.

Thirty minutes had passed and Team were awarded a free kick to the right of the half way line. David James Cohen took it upon himself to place to ball. With yellow shirts piling toward the penalty spot , one man held his never at the back. A delightful ball in to the far post was met by the man himself Aminoff. He saw the flight of the ball and ran towards, he got into position pulled his leg back and met the ball with a superb volley - the ball sailed into the far top corner leaving a respected Mill Hill keeper in awe of a spectacular strike. - A perfect ball met by a perfect volley was always going to result in a perfect red coated man running onto the field of play in congratulations.

Half time came to a close and FC Team were flying. Frustrations were high in the Mill Hill camp and dissent to the man in black as the teams walked towards the tunnel, a red card was shown. An uphill struggle became a mountain.
It was oranges galore at half time as manager Ben Gilbey had a big smile on his face. It was all positives at half time for Team as they were doing absolutely everything right.

As expected, Mill Hill came out fighting. However, Rothman, who had been superb throughout and his right hand man, Sanford, were not going to let this last too long. Cutting absolutely every passage of play out, winning every ball in the air and every 50/50, it was happy days.

The clock hit 55 minutes and it was time for the David James Cohen show.

With Aminoff back to the best and David James Cohen determined to take the limelight away from his namesake David Joseph Cohen, the Mill hill back line was in for a torrid time.

With what can only be described as a worm-like diving header, full-back Jacob Symons started off the play, heading the ball whilst prone on the ground. He played the ball forward to Rob Sanford who in ballerina-like fashion side-stepped his man and played the ball out to Aminoff on the wing. Aminoff stormed down the wing beating several men before smashing the ball in low and hard toward the front post. David James Cohen ran into the front post to delicately tip the ball over the forthcoming goalkeeper! 3-0 Team.

AC Mill Hill had never been on the side of a beating, however credit where credit is due they continued to try and create. With Zloof being kept quiet all game, it was evident that Mill Hill were not going to threaten a dominant Myers in goal.

Playing with confidence Team were playing some Arsenal-esq football. Keeping the ball for long periods, the perfect ball was delivered to man of the moment David James Cohen. Faced with the obstacle of the oncoming keeper, Cohen, full of confidence, nutmugged the goalie and walked the ball into the back of the net.
A cool calm and collected finish which came from a perfect Sanford ball. 4-0 Team.

Still with 10 minutes to play Team were dominating. Heads had dropped in the Mill Hill camp and they were counting down the minutes.
David Joseph Cohen, who had been lively all game, was searching for a goal as he has been on target every game. He had rounded the keeper twice and been exceptional all game but the goal never came.

With two goals to his name, David James Cohen had only one thing on his mind. He wanted that match ball and he was going to get that match ball.
A typical Aminoff run skinning every player in his wake drilled a ball to the back post where a battling Cohen slid in to meet the ball and send the crowd wild. 5-0 Team.

AC Mill Hill player-manager Joe Levy told JC Sport: "We are extremely disappointed to lose our first league game of the season. We felt there were some atrocious refereeing decisions that did not help our cause.

The most frustrating aspect was not showing the desire that we have showed in previous games this season.

"However, credit must go to FC Team who were the better team on the day and deserved winners.

"We will brush ourselves down and move forward. There is a long way to go in the season and we know we are capable of much better. Don't write us off just yet!"

The boys in yellow displayed a real FC TEAM performance. After a year of playing together it was really starting to show. Under-achieving last season and the combination of a few new faces has really made them a team to watch. These boys are not worried about any challenge… even if they do face Faithfold A in the cup.
