Tal Ben Haim could be set for a return to the Premier League after flying to London to train with QPR.
The Israeli has been without a club since leaving Portsmouth last summer and Rangers manager Harry Redknapp was keen to run his eye over the defender.
Redknapp is in the market for an experienced centre half, although he is determined not to break the bank.
Redknapp said: "We are OK in some positions but desperately short in others. We are short of centre-halves."
Ben Haim has had spells with Bolton, Chelsea, Manchester City, Sunderland and West Ham.
