Ben Haim to miss Cup semi final

Tal Ben Haim is set for FA Cup heartbreak with injury likely to rule him out of Sunday's semi-final against Spurs at Wembley.

The Portsmouth defender spent Passover in Israel nursing a groin problem.

Ben Haim, 28, is struggling to recover from the injury which has plagued him since February, and with the possibility that he will not return to fitness this season, he might have played his last game in the Premier League.

Portsmouth's administrator Andrew Andronikou is eager to unload the Israeli international who earns £40,000 a week and is contracted to the club until August 2013.

Ben Haim was brought to England by Sam Allardyce in 2001 when he joined Bolton from Tel Aviv and a reunion with the manager, who is now at Blackburn, could offer him his only hope.

CSKA Moscow are ready to offer Liverpool £9 million for Yossi Benayoun. The Israel captain met his agent Ronen Katsav in Merseyside over the Passover holiday to discuss his future.

Benayoun said: "It is very flattering that other clubs want me. But what is most important is where I am now. I am enjoying myself and it's good for me here. Now is not the time to discuss where I am going. At the end of the season we will have better answers. I have a contract for another three seasons."

"I don't know what will be in the coming years. God knows. I will be 30 in less than a month but they still call me a kid and that makes me feel young. In a few more weeks, it will be the right time to talk about certain things but at the moment I'm fine.

"I've never made decisions purely on economics. At West Ham and Liverpool they offered me more money in other places. It's not right to talk about other clubs at the moment but generally speaking, my wife, Mirit, and I can manage anywhere."
