David Stone, the 2013 winner of the Daniel Sacks Award, turned in another outstanding run by winning the 3,000m at the Youth Development League National final in Bedford. Stone’s time of 8:58.5 was a season-best performance.
Sixty miles down the road, Jack Davis-Black, a double middle-distance gold medallist from this year’s JCC, competed in his first U15 race. He was the third runner in the 3x3,000m and finished with a PB of 10.51, as his team from London Heathside claimed first place at the Middlesex Road Relay Championship.
Another notable performance over the same weekend was delivered by another Daniel Sacks Award nominee, Jayden Klein of Maccabi London Harriers who produced and outstanding run over 75m hurdles at The Woodside Stadium in Watford running in the end of season Open Minors Event. Jayden’s time of 15.90 now means he has four national rankings in different events this year.
The voting for this year’s outstanding Jewish athlete has begun (see links below). All on-line votes will go towards deciding this year’s winners.
