All's Gold for Jewdinese

MGBSFL DIVISION THREE
KING CROWN 0 JEWDINESE 1

Jake Erlich says Jewdinese stuck to their footballing principles as they boosted their title hopes with a hard fought win over King Crown.

New signing Adam Gold capped a dream debut with a late winner.

The game was a dull one for the neutrals, with no real chances falling for either team in the first half, but a few hard challenges spiced up the game a little.

"At half time the Jewdinese boys felt they should be winning this game comfortably and chairman Jake Erlich found the 0-0 scoreline "disappointing".

Erlich was replaced by Joe Meisel to allow for an extra man to sit in midfield and cope with King Crown.

It seemed like the game was going to be a bore draw until debutant Gold popped up and slotted home the winning goal for Zebras.

Jewdinese chairman Jake Erlich told JC Sport: "This was a game in which the opposition looked to frustrate us - however we knew it was a football match which undoubtedly won us the game. We know - as we are young team - there are going to be teams that try and bully us out the game, but it is important we stay composed and stick to the task at hand which is what we did against King Crown."

Jewdinese boss Darren Lawrence told JC Sport: "Sometimes you can dominate the whole game and not get what you deserve, and it looked like that was going to be the story of the game for us.

"However, we kept working hard until the last minute and got our reward, these are the games that you have to work hard to win and that's what we did"

King Crown boss Jacob Kadoch told JC Sport: "It was a very tight and scrappy game that could have gone either way."
