You gave your best friend that speech; asked aunty to do the flowers - but how can you include the neighbours?

If you are looking for ways to make friends and family feel special on your wedding day, the options don't run out once you have assigned the bridesmaids and ushers. Here are some ways to make every guest feel special.

1 - The personal touch

Write individual messages for guests, relaying stories of how you met, or funny encounters. Incorporate these into place cards or napkins and watch guests start to chat to each other as they share their unique message from the bride and groom.

2 - A trip down memory lane

Display wedding photographs of the bride's and groom's parents, grandparents and great grandparents at the chupah or reception. This creates a talking point and is also a touching way to honour those people that may no longer be with you.

3 - Patchwork chupah

Pop a square of material into every invitation, with a note asking each guest to return the material after inscribing a special message, quote or image. Sew together the pieces of material to create an amazing personalised patchwork chupah canopy, which you can use at the ceremony and then cherish forever.

4 - Music memories

We have all got "that" song that reminds us of a certain someone so, before the big day, ask your guests to select a song that reminds them of the bride and groom. This is a fun and engaging way to make your wedding guests feel a big part of your day, while creating a playlist of songs that you know your guests will enjoy.

5 - VIP roles

With all Jewish wedding ceremonies come very important items, such as the ketubah, becher (kiddush cup) and the shards from the breaking of the glass. Select close friends or family members to be responsible for ensuring that these special items are safely stowed until after the wedding celebrations. This will make them feel important and at the same time alleviate the stress of keeping track of them.
