The way the public - and in their own way, the X-Factor producers - are treating Danyl Johnson is appalling.  He has such talent that he deserves to be successful.  But I have a sneaking suspicion the producers are deliberately manipulating him in order to jolt the audience into voting for him and not being complacent.  People writing on Twitter that he is “more hated than Hitler” is disgusting. 
Who knows whether someone is saying even worse about other contestants?

I look at these guys who are no older than my own children and shudder at the way that they are treated in the press.  I know that they put themselves forward for publicity, but they also believe passionately in their own talent and this should be what we concentrate on – after all, we want them to entertain us.
