Why is that one needs a score card or a catalogue when shopping to determine which products are kosher when all can be simplified if the establishment takes the responsibility of placing a kosher insignia on the items if they are kosher certified? After writing to Sainsbury's customer service on numerous occasions the same air-filled response is given to me. I must be careful not to call them anti-Semitic but I do get that very strong underlying feeling as they give me the same run around that they would have to put other designations on the packaging as well which is superfluous hot air. On a bottle of spices packed for Sainsbury's [spices do not require a kosher designation on them], that is where I found a kosher designation. I am just wondering if the entire Jewish communities of the UK have become so complacent that they don’t care anymore. Is that the Jewish communities of the UK shop in the Jewish shops for the really kosher items and the non-essential items shop in the general supermarkets? Why is in the United States, Canada and in other countries there is no shame to put the kosher insignia on the label but here in the UK there seems to be a stigma of shame?
