"Jihad" Jenny Tonge has at last been expelled from the LibDems but Andrew Phillips has lost no time in replacing her as the nastiest LibDem in the House of Lords.
This is the very same ignoble Lord who has opined that "America is in the grip of the well-organised Jewish Lobby" and that "non-Jewish critics of Israel are silent for fear of being labelled ‘antisemitic’".

When someone starts a speech by juxtaposing effusive praise for Israel with effusive praise for Jews, alarm bells start ringing:
For my whole adult life I have been an inveterate supporter of that country [Israel]. I am a huge admirer of Israel in all sorts of ways, just as I am of the Jewish community in this country.
Sure enough:
The tragedy is that a great country and a great people have so demeaned themselves and behaved in a manner that is not just contrary to international law but contrary to simple morality and decency that I genuinely believe that they are now on a suicide path.
Naughty Jews! All 263,346 of you in the UK! Despite not having a vote in the Middle East’s only democracy, Phillips holds you all responsible for Israel’s policies! Never mind that only an antisemite holds Jews collectively responsible for actions of the State of Israel (see EUMC Definition).....
Then Phillips repeats the lie that

The truth is that Israel does not impede the flow of water to Gaza from the Gaza aquifer. Gaza’s access to this water is unaffected by how the water flowing further north, in Israel, is used. The Palestinians have been offered assistance in building desalination plants in Gaza but have always refused. Israel has been helping to improve the water infrastructure in Gaza and Israel was willing to double or even triple the amount of water going into Gaza. The Gazans would pay less than Israelis pay but they weren’t willing to accept that solution.
