The Prime Minister also announced at the CFI lunch the appointment of Saul Klein as "tech envoy" to Israel. As Mr Klein himself put it, it is highly appropriate that the country's first ever tech envoy should be to the Start-Up Nation, as Israel has been dubbed.

It is a welcome and innovative idea. As is our own "Young Entrepreneurs' Challenge", which offers £20,000 investment and all sorts of other help to the nation's most promising new start-up. The competition closes next Friday; full details are available at www.thejc.com
