If it wasn't so serious, the LibDems' farcical handling of David Ward would be prime fodder for The Thick Of It. To recap: Mr Ward announced that "the Jews" had not sufficiently learned the lesson of the Holocaust. In response, the LibDems did precisely nothing.

Then, after this lack of action was pointed out, they did precisely nothing. Then, when there were complaints that they had done nothing, they responded by doing precisely nothing. Then, when it was pointed out that they had done nothing, they suggested that Mr Ward might meet some Jews. Perhaps, they said, the LibDem Friends of Israel might talk to him. But LDFI had no wish to meet Mr Ward.

Now they have found two other Jews for him to meet. We will await the next non-development.
