It is a sign of how deeply the plight of Syrian refugees has struck home that — within barely more than a week — the World Jewish Relief appeal has raised more than £180,000. And there are, as we have reported, any number of other initiatives seeking to provide aid and help. But almost as noteworthy, given how rare it is to see, is that there has been genuine cross-communal co-operation behind all of this.
