EDL and the Jews

August 31, 2010 14:25

In June we ran a story reporting how the English Defence League, the extreme right-wing anti-Islamic-fundamentalism group, had launched a "Jewish division" to encourage members of our community to help "lead the counter-Jihad fight in England".

The suggestion from interested parties was that “a lot of Jewish guys want to get stuck in” and should adopt the EDL as some sort of competitor to communal groups such as CST which work to defend British Jews.

On Saturday EDL supporters in Bradford held a “static protest” – the Home Office had banned a full march from taking place – and the group of around 700 people threw smoke bombs and missiles at police.

Among the chants from the vile, snarling ‘activists’ (thugs in layman’s terms) was the following, reported in The Observer:

“Allah, Allah, who the f*** is Allah?”

Perhaps those members of our community who were taken in by the supposed need for an EDL “Jewish division” (at least 100 have already joined a Facebook group of that name) may now like to reconsider their position?
