I've never been to the Edinburgh Festival.
To be honest, it's not at the top of my bucket list. It's not even on the list.
I'll go one day, but it'll have to wait until i've visited the Caribbean; Canada, Le Manoir aux Quatre Saisons and a multitude of restaurants/places to numerous to mention. (Now you're all thinking i'm a heathen - i'm not, honest, just got other fish to fry.)
If you are heading North for a bit of culture and you keep kosher, there's a treat in waiting for you courtesy of the Edinburgh Hebrew Congregation.
John Danzig - Chair of the Shul — wrote to the JC to tell us that they have set up a kosher pop up at which they will be serving chicken soup with all the trimmings, falafel platter, New York hot dog, hot salt beef sandwich and finest Scottish smoked salmon served on a bagel.
Check your diaries, as it will only be open on Thursday 3rd August, and Tuesdays 8th, 15th and 22nd August between the hours of 12.00pm until 2.30pm.
A menu like that might even be enough for me to reconsider....If you want to find out how to get your kosher nosh, email johnjdanzig@yahoo.co.uk but do give him some warning so he can stock up his larder.
