I've spent the last three days frying latkes. All to make your Chanukah go with a bang.
Not only that, but I've also tasted so many doughnuts I'm sure either my teeth will turn black and fall out of my head, or the button on my jeans will fly off.
And it's all for you, dear JC readers. I've perfected the most crisp and crunchy latkes you will ever eat; invented a stuffed latke AND discovered the best doughnuts in NW London. Today, I've chewed my wayt through doughnuts from no less than SIX bakeries. Not only that, but each one sent more than one variety, so that's at least eaten no less
The latke will appear in its own video next week, together with another new recipe - the parsley and za'atar latke. Inspired by the ridiculously good za'atar given to me on my June trip to Israel, these latkes are the Ottolenghi of the latke world. I can't wait to share them with you. I'll write and post the recipe next week.
