A real-life Jewish ‘super-hero’?

September 12, 2008 11:37

Always wanted to fly? Now you can thanks to a group of Israeli students from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.

Under the supervision of aeronautical and space engineering Professor Gil Yossilbesk, they have developed a “Batman-style” winged flight-suit that they claim enables someone dropped from an airplane to glide on their own.

They completed approximately 100 trials before perfecting the suit, which attempts to make gliding less physically demanding and painful than previous flight suit designs, and be able to take the wearer further.

Unfortunately though, the suit is recommended only for professional pilots, so you may wish to remain inside your next El Al airplane, however loudly the babies are crying.

And let us salute the real superheroes – those of Israeli technology.
