articlemain

Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith was the guest speaker at a fundraising dinner for Nightingale. More than 500 guests gathered at the City's Guildhall on Monday evening to hear the MP share his views on the Big Society and Jewish philanthropy: "You look after your family and your community, and you make sure one generation has responsibility for the next." Speaking of his admiration for Nightingale, he said the south London care home, "should get all the praise it is possible to give". The dinner raised more than £1 million for the running of the home.
