Ceremony marks start of new school’s construction

articlemain

Schools Secretary Ed Balls, helped by other dignitaries, buried a time capsule in the foundations of the Jewish Community Secondary School in East Barnet. The capsule contained documents detailing the history of the site and the JCoSS project and included a copy of the JC from August 8, 2007, the week in which Barnet Council granted planning consent. The ground-breaking ceremony marked the start of construction of the £50 million, state-of-the-art, 1,310-place school, due to open its doors to pupils in September 2010
