A London crowd raises £25K for the Wiener Library

articlemain

The Wiener Library invited 125 people to Central London’s Wallace Collection for a private viewing of the Treasures of the Black Death. The exhibition, showing until May 10, houses a display of treasure found buried under synagogues in Germany following persecution during the plague in the 14th century. In his address, senior lawyer Anthony Julius shared his reflections on the exhibition. The event raised £25,000 for the Wiener Library, whose first home when it moved to London from Amsterdam in 1939 was on a site near the Wallace Collection
