A big turnout for Board of Deputies 250th anniversary

The City of London’s Bevis Marks Synagogue hosted a Board of Deputies’ celebration to mark its 250th anniversary. The 200-plus guests honoured the request of the late Gertrude Shilling, a deputy known for her millinery creations, who left a legacy to the Board, requesting that the donation be used to stage a party. Her son, designer David Shilling, said he was “very moved” to see everyone at the party
