Jewish Child's Day noodle doodles

articlemain

At Jewish Child's Day Party@thePark (October 11th) the JC ran an arts and activity station where children produced “noodle doodles” — stencils of butterflies, fish, sunflowers and dinosaurs decorated with multi-coloured polystyrene.

Entrants were split into three categories up to the age of nine and winners were chosen by the paper’s creative director John Belknap.

0-4 category
Ayala age 3
Strong choices of different beautiful colours that all work together really well. Ayala had the unique idea of colouring the dinosaur’s face, hands, feet and tail. Very pleasing to look at overall.

5-7 category
Winner: Magda age 5
Lovely, strong shape. Magla picked out the colours of the foam bits and the paint carefully, and distributed them cleverly. She has achieved a beautiful, confident combination of colour and form that hits the visual sweet spot.

8-9 category
Winner: Chloe Jaffe age 8
Chloe used the shapes of the template well – and then went beyond them, adding the foam bits in a circle and then painting concentric circles on the face. She used inventive colours, laid out carefully with sophisticated combinations, and also painted and decorated the outside frame. The finish is neat, lovely and strong. Stunning.
