articlemain

Two hundred and six French Jews landed in Israel today on the largest French aliyah flight of the summer.

They were met by the Jewish agency, who organised the flights, and chairman Natan Sharansky who danced with the new immigrants minutes after they landed in Tel Aviv.

Thousands of French Jews have immigrated to Israel via the JewishAgency so far this year, after last year's all-time record of 7,800.
