Greek Prime Minister at Mount Herzl

George Papandreou, the Greek Prime Minister, visited Jerusalem this week.

Mr Papandreou is the first leader of Greece to visit Israel in 30 years. He met Shimon Peres amd told the Israeli President: "I would personally like to help bring peace to the region."

As part of his visit Mr Papendreou went to Mount Herzl and laid a wreath at Theodor Herzl's grave. The head of the World Zionist Organisation, Avraham Duvdevan, also presented the Greek leader with a book about the zionist writer.
