Hertsmere Jewish Primary School in Radlett has become the fifth school to join the United Synagogue’s new Jewish Community Academy Trust, which was launched earlier this year.

The school, which is already run under the auspices of the United Synagogue, was required to become part of a multi-academy trust after being relegated from outstanding to inadequate by Ofsted in the spring.

Kirsten Jowett, JCAT chief executive, said, "We are delighted to welcome HJPS to our family of schools. HJPS may have changed to an academy but what won’t change is the school’s warm and welcoming environment, positive Jewish ethos and strong academic performance."

The trust, she said,  "exists to support Jewish schools through the sharing of resources and best practice, and by reducing costs while maintaining high standards. We look forward to working with the team and students at HJPS.”
