Barnet Council has approved state aid for Noam, the independent Orthodox primary school which opened 19 years ago.

The school will become voluntary-aided at the start of next term in January, after Barnet’s children, education, library and safeguarding committee gave the go-ahead at the end of last week.

While it is currently located in Wembley, it will move to a new home in Burnt Oak in Barnet, which is under construction, in 2020.

Barnet Mayor Reuben Thompstone said Noam “has provided great education provision for Orthodox Jewish Barnet children since 1999. It feels like the school is coming home now, with a brand new Barnet address. We welcome this addition to the Barnet family."
