UJIA support for Israeli medical school

articlemain

Four charities have joined forces to build Israel's fifth medical faculty, the Bar Ilan School of Medicine in Tsfat.

UJIA, together with its partners, is investing $10 million (£6.3 million) in the new campus for teaching and research in the Galil. The region currently has 2.2 doctors for every 1,000 Israelis compared to 4.3 in the centre of the country.

At the opening of the campus, which brings 140 students to northern Israel, UJIA chairman Mick Davis said: "This inspiring new faculty connects with our strategy and core projects in northern Israel - to strengthen the Galil and our investment in education."

The partnership quartet is made up of UJIA, UIA Canada, Russell Berrie Foundation and Rashi Foundation.
