Sent packing by the United Synagogue in the charitable spirit of Purim

London communities bring festive cheer to the less fortunate

articlemain

In preparation for Purim, United Synagogue communities prepared more than 1,000 food parcels for charitable distribution.

Using US Chesed's new Big Purple Box, volunteers from Cockfosters and North Southgate, Kinloss Youth, Mill Hill, Radlett, St John's Wood, South Hampstead, Stanmore and Canons Park and Woodside Park made up the parcels.

Michelle Minsky, head of US Chesed, said: "The intention is to show others that someone is thinking of them. I am delighted that a good number of our communities have used it to spread the Purim spirit."
