Daily Mail journalist Sarah Vine has revealed that being married to Education Secretary Michael Gove is “like being a single mother” because he travels so much for his work.
Ms Vine was being interviewed at the Emunah Summer Lunch by Sky News presenter Samantha Simmonds.
The interview, held in front of 120 guests at Hampstead Garden Suburb Synagogue, included a discussion about Ms Vine’s former jobs as beauty columnist and leader writer at The Times.
She described her husband as “a great supporter of Israel,” and said the couple hoped to visit the country after the next General Election.
The event raised over £7,000 towards computer equipment at the Emunah children’s home at Afula, northern Israel.
British Emunah chairman Hilary Pearlman thanked Ms Vine and Ms Simmonds and added : “Through Emunah’s work in schools and residential homes across Israel, we are able to ensure that the children in our care are given the care, education and attention they need.”
