A teacher has been suspended at Kantor King Solomon High School in Redbridge following an allegation of “improper conduct”.

In a statement, police said that on April 30, they were “made aware of an allegation of improper conduct by a teacher at a secondary school in Redbridge borough. Representatives from the school and the East Area police safeguarding team are working with the local authority to ensure that appropriate measures are in place which safeguard all relevant children whilst an investigation is conducted.”

In a message to parents, acting head Hannele Reece wrote that "after an allegation was made against a member of staff, I wanted to reassure all parents that the safeguarding policy and arrangements at our school are robust. We continue to do everything we can as a school so that all of our students feel safe and supported. We are not able to comment further due to the nature of ongoing inquiries”.

Redbridge Council declined to comment.
