Langdon bikers reach Brussels

articlemain

A bike ride to Brussels has raised more than £25,000 for Langdon services for young Jewish adults with learning disabilities.

Ben Kraus, James White, Guy Ben-David and Richard Shinwell from the Manchester-based Langdon Community joined founding trustee Jonny Manson to relay the 220 miles from the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Kent to the Belgian capital. The group completed the task in just three days, raising money for Langdon's Manchester and north London facilities.

Richard Shinwell said: "I was a little nervous of doing the ride at first, but once I got going I loved every minute of it. I only expected to ride 20 miles, but rode over 70. I hope I'll be able to come again next year".

Mr Manson, 64, said the ride had been a confidence booster for the participants. "The money will mean we can maintain our services at a time of economic restraint."
