Limmud Scotland held a Shabbat dinner to give guests a taste of the main learning event in March.

More than 100 people heard from four speakers: Claire Singerman of Gathering the Voices - a Holocaust Remembrance project; UJIA Glasgow youth worker Julie Rae-King; Limmud chairman Kevin Sefton; and Glasgow expatriate Nick Henderson who works for Jewish educational programme Livnot U'Lehibanot in Tzfat, Israel.

Suzanne Neville, co-chair of Limmud Scotland with Nadia Lipsey, said: "I'm delighted with how it went. It wasn't a fundraiser, we did it to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Glasgow Jewish Representative Council and also to give people a taster ahead of our main day."

The Limmud dinner, held at Giffnock and Newlands Synagogue, was part of J-Fest week's raft of activities in Glasgow to celebrate the anniversary of the Representative Council.

Other celebratory events included kiddushim at synagogues, youth events and a film festival.
