Enjoying the pay off line

articlemain

It was "pay day" at Leeds Jewish Welfare Board as supporters turned up to make good on their New Year appeal pledges.

The annual event, dating back to 2009, enables the welfare board to save on administrative costs.

Meirav Sasson, its income generation manager, said the response had been heartening: "It's gratifying to have a face-to-face engagement between donors, staff and trustees and to explain to them the different services the board offers."

This year's appeal has focused on social isolation and was supported at festival services at the city's Orthodox synagogues.
