Elderly Jewish sisters robbed

articlemain

Two elderly Jewish sisters were left in shock after thieves ransacked their north Manchester home before leaving empty-handed.

One of the women, aged 87, was yanked from the phone as she tried to call the police. She was held with her mouth covered to silence her cries.

The three raiders searched the house on Bury New Road, Broughton Park, but left shortly after 2.30am last Wednesday. The sisters then alerted a neighbour. Both were treated for shock and the 87-year-old suffered bruising to her arms. Police are appealing for information.
