Bushey shul warden's memorial

articlemain

Bushey Synagogue’s eight-foot high flame logo outside its front door has been dedicated to the memory of warden Laurence Bamberg, who died last year, aged 51. Family and friends joined some 250 guests at Sunday’s dedication, which followed Mr Bamberg’s stone-setting.

Representing the United Synagogue trustees, Russell Kett said that Mr Bamberg had completed almost a quarter-of-a-century as a warden, serving for 15 years at St Albans and nine years at Bushey. Bushey chair Stephen Roston added: “It is fitting that Laurence’s memorial should be our eternal flame. We will remember him and the unstinting service he gave to this community.”

There were more personal tributes from Mr Bamberg’s son, Joshua, and teenage daughters, Zara and Sharon.
