Former Chelsea and England footballer Wayne Bridge was on the winning team at the 48th annual Rags (Redbridge Aid Golf Society) tournament at Abridge, which raised £115,000 for community services in the area.

A cheque for £95,000 was presented to outgoing Jewish Care chief executive Simon Morris to support the charity’s work in Redbridge. Another £5,000 was collected on the day for the charity. The Community Security Trust received £10,000 and £5,000 was donated to the Sidney Gold Rags’ scholars scheme.

“This was another great year for Rags,” said golf committee chair Andrew Klein. “It is always a good opportunity to play golf while raising money for vital services, including much needed funds for Jewish Care.” Greg Lishak was the individual winner.
