Broadcaster Vanessa Feltz was among more than 900 supporters of Chai Cancer Care’s Rosh Hashanah gift sale, which raised £46,500 towards the charity’s services.

Some 30 stalls offered an eclectic mix of homeware, jewellery, fresh and silk flowers and chic millinery.

Shoppers could relax and refuel with homemade snacks and refreshments at the “Chaibucks Café”.

The gift sale was organised by the Chai Society Committee, whose co-chair Debra Zender told the JC afterwards: “We have been overwhelmed by the incredible support of the community. The £46,500 will go a long way.”
