Bournemouth Sephardi Association marked its 20th anniversary with a weekend of events, including services and a four-course Friday night Sephardi dinner for 90 guests, many from out of town.

On Shabbat morning, Bournemouth Hebrew Congregation’s main prayer hall was packed for a combined Ashkenazi and Sephardi service at which Dayan Pinchas Toledano delivered the dvar Torah.

This was followed by a kiddush and lunch. “Many people commented that they had never seen so much food in their life,” said Simon Tammam, the Bournemouth Sephardi president.

There was more food on Sunday, with an Israeli-style breakfast following the morning service.
