Female UJIA supporters enjoyed a private view of the new Christian Dior exhibition at London’s V&A before hearing first-hand how the charity financially supports those who might otherwise not be able to participate in Israel tours.

In an impassioned address, Edgware mum Hayley Rubin told the 250 guests that two of her four children had benefited from bursaries.

“Finally they achieved their dream of going to Israel. My younger two are desperate to go but they know that I just can’t take them. But UJIA will.”

Event chair Emma Samuels said that in Israel, “we can help make the difference to those living in poverty. Everyone deserves equal opportunities and the education to help them flourish and achieve their full potential.”

The £175,000 raised will enable more young people to join Israel tours. UJIA annually distributes scholarships and bursaries to teenagers and young adults in Israel and the UK worth in excess of £1 million.
