High note for Leeds Reform

articlemain

Members of Sinai Synagogue enjoyed a presentation about the use of music in Reform services. Synagogue member and music lover Jonathan Lewis lead participants through the Shabbat morning service, starting with a range of compositions from Lewandowski onwards for Ma Tovu. Discussion ranged from the purpose of music in services to preferred tunes and the effect they have on the mood and spirituality of the services.

Participant and shul chair Elsje Prins said she "really valued the opportunity this session provided to sing, listen and study. Many thanks to Jonathan for such a thought provoking and enjoyable session."
