  1. Hotels are advertising for the winter – and they have bomb shelters.
  2. Even colleges are proud of their shelters. And the Principals are Air Raid Wardens.
  3. Brighton is a Safe Zone. This school still has Air Raid Shelters. People are really nervous.
  4. Moving on from Air Raid Shelters, the children have all been evacuated (though some are beginning to come back because nothing is being bombed yet) – here’s a photo of evacuees in Holywell, North Wales.
  5. Even the Zionists are real Englishmen. Just incidentally.
  6. But why were the Jews forced to wear the yellow badges? Here is a bit of history…
  7. If you were thinking of travelling – or waiting for someone to arrive – well, here’s what you need to know. Is the delay war related? ‘Navigational delays’ could mean anything.
  8. Making a party? Here’s a recipe for you. Um, oops, no party because a war is on? Sandwiches, then.
  9. The war is on, the bombs are coming, and the National Institute for the Blind is getting ready for an increase in members.
  10. And finally, if you thought 1939 was a long time ago, it’s not. This charity was celebrating it’s 160th birthday. If it would be around today (though I imagine with a different name…), it would be turning 239. Now that’s old.

A happy and peaceful 2019 to us all!
