Nigella Lawson opens Jewish Museum
Celebrity cook Nigella Lawson and broadcaster Alan Yentob led the celebrations at the official launch of the Jewish Museum in Camden, which has undergone a £10m restoration.
Housing an impressive display of ancient Judaica, a Holocaust exhibition and scenes of London Jewish life through the ages, one of the highlights includes a medieval mikvah dating from 1270.
The Camden museum also promises to showcase Jewish life in Britain by using technology to bring history to life.
Interactive exhibits include chicken soup cooking in a typical immigrant kitchen, comedian David Schneider’s Yiddish Karaoke and a video display of eight contemporary British Jews.
